Morning.
A quick trip down to the beach for a socially distanced breakfast in Little Blue.
Kewstoke was gorgeous this morning. We were gifted with beautiful views (even though the tide was out) and had the whole beach to ourselves. Didn't see another soul, not even a dog walker, really felt like it was just us and the world...amazing.
Such a relaxed early morning, lazing in Blue, soaking up the tranquil morning sun, enjoying our books in companionable silence and sipping iced coffee...until the ice ran out!
BE PEACEFUL!
BOOK REVIEW
What have I been reading?...in short.
A Man Called Ove
Frederick Backman
Fiction
This is a thought provoking, entertaining read which has been translated into English from the authors native language, Swedish.
We all know a man like Ove. A cantankerous, self righteous, elderly man who, despite being difficult, you understand, totally agree with and grow to love.
This beautifully written book encourages the reader to consider how those around them may be struggling, alone and lonely, with everyday life. It's a gentle read which pulls on the heartstrings and had me in tears in places...though there is humour too!
It's different but well worth the read, everyone I know has LOVED it. Give it a go, it really is a beautiful story.
