NO SIGN OF THE MONSTER!
Great start to the day. A blustery walk on Cramond Island Beach, just a short 10 min drive away from the Edinburgh campsite, before heading on up to Loch Ness.
Inverness is where the journey officially starts but we camper van owners know that the adventure began the minute we left home. Inverness is actually a big city so do take the opportunity to refuel and restock supplies for the onward journey.
Stunning drive and beautiful scenery all the way up to Loch Ness with plenty of stops to explore the banks of the loch...no sign of the monster though! Our campsite for the night, Loch Ness Bay Camping, was just a short walk to the loch and was fab. A spacious, quiet, family run site with EHU and great facilities. Definitely recommended.
Trialed the table hooked up on the outside bar this evening. It's a great addition which I would highly recommend if you get the chance to fit one (door has to fully slide open to allow access to the bar). Being able to use the same table inside and out is a great space saving idea as there is no need to pack a separate table for use outside. I think, with the weather so beautiful, we're going to get a lot of use out of this clever addition.
A relaxed evening eating and drinking outside with a spot of musical entertainment from Joe and still warm and light at midnight, quite the experience! That means that the further north we travel the longer the days will be... brilliant, more time to explore.
