NC500 DAY 7 - The Road Less Travelled

Ventured up a road which was signed...NOT SUITABLE FOR CAMPER VANS...by mistake and guess what...it really wasn't suitable for camper vans! Too late, nowhere to turn around so onward it was...albeit tentatively.

I wouldn't recommend driving a motor home on these tracks, they really ARE very narrow and pretty hair raising at times but possible in Little Blue due to the frequent passing places. If you find yourself on one of these tracks, take it easy and consider other road users.

The scenery though...BREATHTAKING! (didn't get many pics...too busy concentrating on the road.

Had we not taken this road we would not have stumbled across, probably, my FAVOURITE Scottish beach - Achmelvich, so every cloud and all that! Paid £5 to park up in a field just a 3 minute walk from the beach and that included an overnight stay, there are public toilets too with washing facilities...all good.

A picnic lunch, a coastal walk, a van cooked supper followed by an evening spent on this INCREDIBLE beach with a football, a couple of camping chairs, a few beers and each other. Had everything I needed to relax and enjoy the eventual sunset.

SERIOUSLY...if you do nothing else in a day, visit this beach at sunset, it truly is a perfect place. White sands, turquoise sea, mountainous backdrop and the most gorgeous sunset... amazing.
