Beautiful drive through the most stunning highland scenery with a WOW and a WHOH of wonder at almost every turn. I've said it before, I'll say it again...if you know, you know! If you don't know then you really should go and find out for yourself.
Another little adventure down a road less travelled and we happened upon here... wherever here is? All I know is that we are on the west coast somewhere in the region of Ullapool and it's lovely.
A much needed chilled late morning relaxing on a quiet beach in the unprecedented Scottish sunshine (it really is very warm) snacking, reading, swimming and a little boat trip around the Summer Isles as an added bonus.
Decided, on a whim, to skip over to Skye. Why not? We've never been and we're so close that it would be a shame to miss. It also means that the decision of whether we do the Applecross Pass or not is not an issue...we won't be doing it and rhat's a BIG phew for me...each to their own.
Followed the road to Skye and happened upon (day 8 has mostly been about 'happening upon'), a true Scottish gem. The quaintly, perfect village of Plockton...and it's pub. FELL IN LOVE WITH PLOCKTON, please,please,please put it on your list.
Another night of wild camping courtesy of the fish and chip shop owner (great fish 'n' chips btw) and a fab view over Loch Carron to wake up to. Also there are really well maintained toilets and washing facilities just above the village car park for public use.
