And we're off! Three Hardwicks on the road with Little Blue.
For the purpose of this trip I will be posting every day so the journey can be followed as it happened. It's better that way I think.
Little Blue is all packed up and we're brimming with excitement and anticipation. We have a semi plan, thanks to Chris, but my excitement lies in feeling the freedom of the open road.
Last minute decision to leave a day early, split the journey to Edinburgh, drive as far as we can then use a Brit Stop for the night. Good decision as it makes for a much more relaxed start to the long road trip.
A smooth and comfortable 290 miles and we got as far as Carlisle on the England/Scotland border (nearly there). Officially road blind, we found a gem of a Brit Stop, The Metal Bridge and it's well worth a visit by weary travellers. It has space for a number of vehicles on electric hook up, has an outside toilet block in addition to the pub toilets AND it has showers...brilliant!
A relaxing evening was spent in the bar playing cards with a few beers, chatting over what the days ahead may offer before retiring to Little Blue for a cosy nights sleep, in readiness to push on up to Edinburgh in the morning.
EDINBURGH...HERE WE COME!
Log on to my blog TOMORROW for NC500 Day 2...DON'T miss it!
